You might know someone you love who has a really bad tendency to snore—or it might even be something that you do! But did you know that dentists like Dr. Fellner are trained in treating patients who have issues with snoring?
Snoring is caused by air trying to squeeze through a narrowed or blocked airway. Obstructive sleep apnea is a condition in which the flow of air decreases during breathing while you are asleep because the airway has become narrowed.
Normally, the upper throat remains open enough during sleep to let air pass by. However, when the muscles in the upper throat relax during sleep, the airway is narrowed and breathing is reduced or blocked completely.
During your next visit, make sure to ask Dr. Fellner how he can help you get a better night’s sleep.
