If you are experiencing teeth that are severely discolored, chipped, misshapen, crooked, have small holes or pits, or you are seeking to correct uneven spaces, make sure you call and schedule an appointment with our team.
It is likely that Dr. Fellner would recommend fitting you with veneers.
Veneers are an alternative to crowns, but they do provide some added benefits. For example, they do not typically require anesthesia because they are simply thin pieces of specially-shaped porcelain that are glued over the front of your tooth. Also, veneers do not need Dr. Fellner to remove much of the original tooth in order to place the veneers.
Dr. Fellner will start by buffing a little bit of the tooth to make room for the thickness of the veneer. He will then make an impression of your teeth and that will be used to mold the correct shape for the veneers. The impression is sent to a dental lab and Dr. Fellner will give you temporary veneers to wear until the permanent ones are ready.
When you come back for your second appointment, the new veneers will be placed on your teeth with water or glycerin. This method is used so that you and Dr. Fellner can verify that the veneers are a perfect fit and that they also match the color of the rest of your teeth. Your tooth is then cleansed with chemicals to achieve a durable bond, and a light beam is used to harden the glue.
